Vestas American Wind Technology Repair Technician I in Windsor, Colorado

Skilled Worker / Semi-Skilled Worker - Full-Time - Production

Looking for a background in Composite Repair work. In this position, you will be an expert in repair of wind turbine blades. This is not mechnical repair work.

General Purpose Operate all manufacturing equipment efficiently and safely Follow Process Work Instructions, Manual production processing, Fit and assemble parts into complete assembly (such as bolts, screws, shafts or bearings) Learn safety and quality improvement processes. Clean and organize work area according to 5S requirements Demonstrate ability to meet production standards on specific tasks within required time. Contributes to the achievement of team goals Complete tasks with high level of Safety and Quality standards Required to be Safety-Minded. Will safely do the right thing, every time, without being told Be a reliable team member by showing attendance within the requirements Lift, position, and/or remove material from work areas Load, stack and transport materials by hand, truck, crane or jib Follow work process instructions specific to job task Adhere to Production Worker Instructions (PWI) Collaborative and effective team player and able to work with teams Mechanical and Electrical Assembly (such as mounting wires, cables and terminations) All other duties as assigned

Responsibilities Functions as an operator in the process of training additional skills in repairs Attendance compliance in accordance with the Vestas policy as well as OT required by Production Management and completion of all offered coursework and training Must be able to see and hear alarms, timers and follow verbal instructions Must be able to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the task Must be able to tolerate an environment where chemicals and materials are used within OSHA guidelines Ability to work at a pace in accordance to a takt plan that still meets safety and quality requirements Regular & reliable attendance climb up and down stairs lift a NIOSH box weighing 30# from 20 inches to 28inches No required competency on TDR and a level 2 on your performance tracker (behavioral) Operator is in the process of completing offered repair coursework and training Operator can successfully complete basic repairs and in process repairs accurately to include all documentation under supervision

Requirements High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos Completion of on-the-job training may be substituted for experience requirements Established work history of at least one year in preferably manufacturing Experience working on teams Ability to adapt to a changing environment Set a good example of personal integrity Ability to communicate effectively on the job Use measuring tools and gauges Valid State Drivers License
