WM Accounting Specialist in Windsor, Connecticut

I. Job Summary

Ensures accurate accounting records for receipts and/or disbursements within the company.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

Performs a variety of clerical and entry-level bookkeeping and accounting tasks, applying accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of accounting and other records, and preparing financial, statistical, and/or technical reports.

Receives and/or distributes funds related to the assigned area of responsibility.

Posts journal, ledger, or voucher books of accounts from supporting data by hand or machine.

Balances individual account books.

Verifies computer printouts reflecting status of accounts.

Issues checks from departmental accounts.

Prepares and mails bills or statements or prepares lists of outstanding bills payable.

Computes and records charges, refunds, or cost of lost or damaged goods.

May prepare summary sheets or other work papers for supervisors use in preparing comprehensive financial statements.

May audit and proof accounting or other reports for clerical accuracy and conformance to departmental procedures.

A. Education and Experience

Education: High school diploma or GED (accredited)

Experience: Zero (0) to four (4) years of relevant experience (in addition to education requirements)

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

Normal setting for this job is: hybrid office setting in Windsor, CT.

The expected base pay range for this position across the U.S. is $21-$22/hour. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
