The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team:

What You Will Do

  • This position manages a department that includes multiple teams led by managers and/or supervisors in Emergency Services, Facilities, and Production Support.

  • You will oversee organization wide security programs to ensure compliance with regulations, and develops critical strategic operational goals for planning, organizing and scheduling Facilities activities such as equipment reconfiguration, installation costs, etc.

Facilities Function description:

  • Plans, designs and executes activities that are directly related to the physical creation of RTX products and the functional operation of RTX facilities.

  • Contains professional and para-professional disciplines.

  • Plans, designs, and reconfigures equipment, machinery, buildings, and structures to ensure the optimal utilization of the organization’s facilities.

  • Assesses and evaluates the physical space requirements of the organization and recommends plans to meet needs.

  • Gathers and reviews data concerning facility or equipment specifications, company or government restrictions, required completion date, and construction feasibility.

  • Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs.

  • Ensures proper functioning of facilities through ongoing inspection and maintenance.

  • Conducts machine inventories and arranges disposal of obsolete or no-longer-required equipment. Manages facilities contractor management process.

  • Owns the execution of long-term strategy (e.g., more than 3 years) and operational direction, typically for an entire region, country, product or business of considerable size and scope. or, Owns the establishment and execution of short- to medium-term operational plans (e.g., less than 1 year to 1-2 years) for the organization.

  • Problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis.

  • Requires ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and ability to communicate and influence executive leadership.

Responsibilities:

Emergency Services:

  • The Emergency Services team provides and maintains plant protection services. This includes site security, emergency response for both medical and fire. This team operates 24/7/365.

Facilities Services:

  • The site utilizes an Integrated Facilities Management Contractor to manage soft services such janitorial, landscaping and snow removal. The in-house maintenance staffing consists of a multi-trade multi-shift operation. This organization also include the powerhouse operations. The powerhouse operates 24/7/365 with licensed operators. All resources work together to maintain and improve the site buildings, equipment and infrastructure.

Plant Engineering:

  • The plant engineering function provides electrical, mechanical, and controls engineering support to the site. They work with the customers and facilities functions to ensure modifications to the plant do not impact capacity and system reliability. The team is a resource to help troubleshoot highly technical issues for both production and non-production events.

Production Support:

  • This team provides support to the production areas as well as the facility functions. Production Support oversees the bulk and bottled industrial gas programs, the point-of-use chemical cabinets, paint mixing operation, MRO supplies and cribs, along with the life cycle of all tooling used on the factory floor to make product. This function also maintains and repairs production equipment across the campus.

Project Management Services:

  • The project management team collaboratively manages projects through the project life cycle with input from the customer, the plant engineering team and the maintenance team. This team documents the buildings, equipment, and plant infrastructure in the CAD, CAFM and CMMS systems. The team also has a space planning function which works closely with the site occupants to plan office moves and realignments to support the needs of the business.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Presentation skills and experience working logistics.

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
