Assembly support personnel perform various tasks to support assembly processes such as preparing metal surfaces for painting, mixing refractory material, building pallets/crates for shipping, assembling mechanical parts and general maintenance. This position will normally work under supervision of Assembly Support Lead.

Responsibilities

  • Uses various power and hand tools such as orbital sander/buffer, chop saw, bench grinder, nail gun, staple gun, pliers, drill, hammer, wrenches and screwdrivers.
  • Complies with all safety rules and standards and reports to his supervisor any condition out of his control.
  • Maintains a neat, clean, orderly and functional work area at all times.
  • Performs user maintenance on all machines and equipment.
  • Work must conform to Webster Engineering quality standards.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Will normally work under the supervision of the Assembly Support Lead, but will, to some degree, be required to work with minimum supervision and assistance in most phases of the job performance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Follow technical instructions, interpret engineering blueprints and technical terms.
  • Discern quality of parts and materials used in production.
  • Inventory parts and tools used in the assembling process.
  • Follow company procedures and directives.
  • Test finished products for defects.
  • Maintain the tools used to create products.
  • Keep a clean and well-maintained workspace.

Physical Demands

  • The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces; and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and a plant which is not temperature controlled.
  • Inside Work is typically performed in a factory environment and is usually very loud.
  • In the factory environment, the employee may be exposed to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery factory floors.
