Robert Half is currently seeking an experienced, organized Senior Accountant to join their team for a permanent opportunity in the WINSTED, Connecticut area. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. What you get to do every day

• When working with business partners, ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures and controls. Additionally, be able to provide support on special requests

• Provide monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

• Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

• Provide monthly accounting closure procedures and deliverables, which includes journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

• Adherence to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

• Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations

• Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in a clear manner

• Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary

• Apply oneself to various department-wide initiatives

Requirements - Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

• Prior work done in public accounting is desired

• Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

• Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

• BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

• Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

• 3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

• Experience with ERP systems

• Engages effectively in self-directed time management and prioritization of workload

• Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

• Excellent oral and written communications skills

• Command of SOX

• Experience with Internal Control

• General ledger experience

• Month end closings experience

• Foundational knowledge in account reconciliation

• Proficiency with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
