REYNOLDS AMERICAN United States has an exciting opportunity for a Product Quality Tester in Wiston–Salem, North Carolina

The Product Quality Tester is responsible for Quality Control activities related to: compliance with Product Quality requirements, daily product quality audits, adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Manufacturing guidelines, sampling, testing, and analyzing data and documentation for Domestic and Export products.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Perform visual and physical inspections to ensure proper materials are being used.

  • Perform various Quality audits on the required shift to verify products are within Quality specifications.

  • Report all non-conformances from normal practices and procedures by means of Quality Control reports.

  • Perform round oven moisture testing (pack moisture) and report results including out-of-spec non-conformances

  • Monitor round oven calibrations (pack moisture) and report negative trends for corrective action daily.

  • Accurately operate within the following Quality systems: LIMS, VIDES, MES, Pilgrim, and SAP.

  • Perform Pack Seal checks and document results, as required.

  • Collect samples for analytical testing, which includes routine and “test” samples, as required.

  • Ensure timely communication to Management regarding product non-conformances.

  • When necessary provide FMC operators clear guidance on Vista defined defects and defect level identification

  • Where applicable provide instruction on documented steps for elimination of defects on specified equipment

  • Complete required FDA regulatory training

  • Be aware of the Company environmental, health & safety policies and comply with the objectives as it relates to the role

  • Follow Company Safety Rules

  • Know the potential health & safety risks and environmental impacts of work activities and understand role in mitigating these impacts

  • Understand responsibilities for compliance with regulatory requirements and Company standards

  • Complete EHS-required training and follow operational procedures

  • Immediately report all injuries and illnesses

  • Participate in EHS programs as required by assigned site/role (e.g., PULSAR safety observation program, Safety Triggers)

What are we looking for?

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be a currently classified as a Qualified Operator (Make/Pack/Filter) or Product Rework Processor.

  • Systems – MES, SAP, LIMS, VIDES, Pilgrim, MS Office Applications, SharePoint, Excel, etc.

  • Ability to monitor and validate test results using proficient math skills.

  • Ability to serve as a Quality Culture Ambassador to: report issues, identify causes, assist others, and recommend necessary improvements.

  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to learn and perform various duties.

  • Demonstrated understanding of computer applications, systems and programs.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of standard Quality guidelines and procedures.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to lift/position materials up to 50 lbs.
