Job Overview

At TE Connectivity, you’ll help bring our purpose to life by creating a safer, sustainable, productive and connected future. Your role as a Rotational hire in the Transportation Segment will help us make the connections that move the world forward by:

• Utilizing various analysis tools, software, and supplied data to calculate Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) values for TE products and total Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) calculations

• Working with various functions throughout the organization to execute Sustainability Projects to improve PCF and LCA scores with regards to also minimizing costs

• Consulting with New Product Development on sustainable material choices pre-Gate 3 and help sustaining engineering with legacy material choices

• Developing communication skills while working with cross-functional product teams

Responsibilities

At TE Connectivity, you’ll be part of a global collaborative culture where your innovative approach and actions have the potential to transform the world of tomorrow. In this role you’ll:

• Complete multiple 12-week assignments to different product engineering, supply chain, customer engineering and manufacturing teams over a 2-year duration. A segment of the rotation may be overseas to develop cross-regional sustainability knowledge and practices as well as other rotations outside of the permanent Winston-Salem area

• Perform sustainability tasks with guidance from subject matter experts in each rotation

• Network with other engineers, cross-functional team members, employee resource groups and management 

• Complete a capstone project at the end of the 2-year rotation 

You’re the kind of person we are looking for if you:

• Have Received a High School Diploma or GED

• Are currently enrolled in a program or pursuing with completion prior to June 2025 a BA/BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Sustainability or Sustainable Materials Technology from an accredited college or university or have equivalent work history.

• Have previous internship or large project experience is preferred

• Are authorized to work in the U.S.

• Proficiency in LCA techniques and software, MS Office

• Knowledge of technical tools such as 3D CAD , CAE software

• Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and written)

• Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills 

• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and assembly design principals

COMPENSATION

• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $84,640– $124,960/year (subject to change dependent on physical location)

• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.

• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits

Our rotational program typically places Product Development Sustainability Engineers in the Winston Salem, NC site for the bulk of the duration. Throughout the 2-year program, rotational Product Development Sustainability Engineers will be provided with:
