Job Title: Business Manager I

Summary- This is a contingent Opportunity and would begin work upon the contract award

The Business Manager works as a full-time employee of Zeiders Enterprises, Inc. (Zeiders) in the corporate Home Office in Woodbridge, Virginia. The position is responsible for supporting the Program Director in the contract and business financial management functions and working in close coordination and integration with other corporate functions, such as the Accounting Department. The Business Manager’s two primary responsibilities are Contract Administration and Contract Financial Management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contract Administration

  • Issue and maintain consultant task orders.

  • Manage subcontractor invoicing in collaboration w/Contract Manager, assist w/sub-contract management.

  • Receive and process contract modifications.

  • Maintain contract documentation (Contract Notebooks) in accordance with company policies and practices.

  • Make recommendations to management regarding cost saving or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies

  • Assist or complete contract management reports for client or internal company-use as assigned (i.e. Personnel Roster; Mgmt. of Positions Report, etc.) Contract Financial Management

  • Interface with Controller/Accounting Department regarding cost reporting issues, deliverables and other reporting requirements; prepare contract invoices

  • Assist in the preparation and management of contract budgets; monitor budget expenditures authorized; oversee budget for conformance to funding; track monthly financial execution and analyze financial information to determine present and future financial performance; identify budget and execution trends and recommend improvements accordingly

  • Evaluate operating records and financial statements; prepare studies, reports and analyses in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, governmental requirements, statistical reports, cash flow projection and business forecasts

  • Develop spreadsheets and databases of pertinent information for use in analyzing future Division plans and forecasts

  • Coordinate with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize and prepare recommendations regarding contract and financial plans, trended future requirements, Government requirements and operating forecasts

  • Assist the Controller/Accounting Department in the development of the budget, planning and other corporate financial requirements

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise other employees.

  • The position is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these activities.

  • Supervisory responsibilities are executed in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Financial Management, or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

  • Three years progressively responsible experience in Government contract management, business management and/or accounting.

  • Must be able to comprehend and apply laws and regulations applicable to business operations in a Government contracting environment.

  • Familiarity with government contracting processes through prior work experience

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, etc.)

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • Possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with HR Solutions IDIQ contracts

  • Prior experience with budget management within a professional setting.

  • Demonstrated experience with military family support programs

Other Skills and Abilities

  • This position requires access to U.S. Government facilities and systems. U.S. Citizenship, a valid driver's license, transportation, and auto insurance are required.

Physical Demands: Works in office areas. Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours. Uses personal computer, telephones, copiers, printers and other office equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Pay Range: $60,000-$75,000
