Robert Half Accounting Manager in Woodland Hills, California

Description We are in search of an Accounting Manager to join our Real Estate & Property team located in Woodland Hills, California. In this role, you will handle a variety of responsibilities, including managing financial reports, overseeing account reconciliations, and ensuring accurate financial statements. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the financial reporting process for various Property Management Companies to ensure timeliness and accuracy.

• Review preliminary financial reports provided by Property Management Companies for accuracy and ensure all sub-ledgers tie out to the financial reports.

• Handle entries for acquisitions and dispositions, including gain from sale calculations.

• Carry out reconciliations for Capital Expense bank accounts and provide a copy of the bank reconciliation and general ledger activity to the Property Management Company.

• Verify that operating and capital expense items are coded correctly and communicate any anomalies in the financials to the Asset Manager and the Property Management Company.

• Ensure timely payment of business licenses, local state taxes, real and personal property taxes, and insurance premium renewals.

• Provide accurate monthly financial statements to joint venture partners by the due date indicated in the joint venture agreement.

• Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, or annual financial reporting to lenders and ensure compliance with loan requirements through debt covenant calculations and certifications.

• Update the corporate Asset Management Fee, Construction Management Fee, and Accounting Fee schedules on a monthly basis.

• Assist Asset Management and Portfolio Management with annual budget planning as needed.

• Provide budget figures for partnership and other expenses as requested by Asset Management. Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the Real Estate & Property industry.

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems.

• Knowledge of Great Plains (GPAC).

• Ability to handle all Accounting Functions.

• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Knowledge of Auditing procedures.

• Familiarity with Billing Functions.

• Specialized experience in Real Estate Accounting.

• Proficiency in the use of Yardi software.

• Ability to prepare Financial Statements.
