Aerospace Plating, Cad Operator 1st Shift Job Overview Title: Plating Cad Operator Reports to: Production Managers (Value Stream or Shift) Location: Kent, WA Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt (hourly) Schedule: 1st shift - Monday through Friday, 6A to 2:30 P.M. Hytek production is open 24 hours per day. All shifts are as follows: 1st shift (Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.), 3rd shift (Sunday - Friday, 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.) Job Summary This is a Plating Operator trainee position in our Plating department which includes Cadmium, Chromium, Zinc Nickle, Passivate, and Titanium-Cadmium. Employees in this position will learn tasks in order to process parts specific to Cadmium Plating. As a Plating Operator Trainee, individuals learn to become a proficient Plating Operator. Plating Operators may be required to join the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program*. The Plating Operators perform operations in accordance with Military and OEM specifications. * FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program requires an initial drug test including a screen for THC, subject to quarterly Drug & BAT testing. Responsibilities Work closely with experienced Operators and Department Leads to complete work and prioritize tasks. Follow technique card, customer Purchase Orders, and instructions from experienced Operators and Department Leads; legibly sign off on work once completed and Operator Self Verification inspection has occurred. General review of paperwork and Operator Self Verification inspection of job to ensure all previous operations were completed. Notify supervisor and Quality Assurance if any errors. Prepare parts prior to operations including mechanical or chemical cleaning; use proper tooling and fixtures, when applicable. Knowledge of pre and post cleaning surface finish requirements. Familiar with Quality Assurance requirements & rework procedures. Familiar with engineering drawing notations. Follow safety precautions to avoid preventable injury to self and other personnel. Develop new product processing and identify areas for improvement. Actively participate in continuous improvement activities to drive positive change in productivity, delivery, and service. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Ability to pass a pre-employment and annual physical Cadmium/Chromium exam and spirometry exam; ability to wear a respirator. May need to participate in annual Hearing Conservation testing and Eye Exams. Ability to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, including safety glasses, goggles or face shields, aprons, boots, gloves, and other PPE based upon requirements in working area. Demonstrated ability to train and positively influence others. Must be a self-starter, able to work both independently, as a team, and with customers (both internally and externally). Excellent accuracy with a strong attention to detail. Ability to solve tactical and strategic problems and issues arising in this position. Ability to learn and use Lean Tools and techniques to solve tactical and strategic problems and issues arising in this position. Must have a regular and dependable attendance record. Ability to Read/Write/Communicate in English and calculate basic math formulas. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. An export license will be required to work in all areas of the facility.
