Job Title: 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician - Up to $35/hr to Start

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift (3pm - 11pm, Mon - Fri). Overtime availability is required. The role involves performing mechanical and electrical repairs and preventative maintenance on plant systems and mechanical equipment. You will read diagrams, sketches, manuals, and manufacturer's specifications to ensure proper maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities include performing minor electrical repairs such as replacing fuses, switches, solenoids, and gates. You will dismantle devices to remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools. Additionally, you will set up and operate lathes, drill presses, grinders, horizontal band saws, end mills, vertical band saws, pipe threaders, and other metalworking tools to maintain or repair parts.

Hard Skills

  • Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance (5+ years)

  • Knowledge of PLCs and Troubleshooting PLCs

  • Reading Blueprints or Schematics

  • Experience replacing fuses, switches, and solenoids

  • Must have own tools

  • Computer skills

Soft Skills

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs

  • Mobility to bend, climb, crawl

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Attention to detail

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Wooster, Ohio.

Work Environment

The work environment involves exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical shock, vibration, fumes or airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions. Occasionally, work may be performed in high, precarious places. Noise levels are usually moderate. Safety training sessions are mandatory, and all safety guidelines must be followed.

Physical demands include lifting/moving up to 50 pounds, close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. The role requires frequent standing, walking, handling, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and talking or hearing. Occasional sitting is also required.
