Job Title: Accounts Payable Clerk
Location: Worcester, MA
Type: Contract Position
Working Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Company Overview:
A leading company located in the Worcester is currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team on a contract basis. This is a full-time, in-office position with regular business hours.
Responsibilities:
Invoice Verification:
Review and verify accuracy of invoices, purchase orders, and other financial documents.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Payment Processing:
Process and schedule timely payments to vendors.
Prepare and review payment batches for approval.
Vendor Communication:
Communicate with vendors regarding payment inquiries and discrepancies.
Build and maintain positive relationships with key vendors.
Expense Reconciliation:
Reconcile employee expense reports and credit card statements.
Ensure proper documentation and adherence to company expense policies.
Record Keeping:
Maintain organized and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions.
Assist in the preparation of reports on accounts payable status.
Cash Flow Management:
Assist in managing cash flow by coordinating payment schedules.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
Month-End Procedures:
Support month-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
Provide necessary documentation for financial reporting.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in accounts payable or a related field is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
