Henry Ford Health System Nurse Practitioner Physician Assistant Trauma Surgery Full Time Days Wyandotte in Wyandotte, Michigan

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care for injured and surgical critical care patients.

  • Takes patient history, performs physical examination, orders, and interprets tests, makes diagnoses, and institutes appropriate treatment.

  • Works in collaboration with trauma and surgical critical care physicians, staff physicians, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently.

  • Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Master's degree in nursing or Physician Assistant degree

  • CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner. Current State license as a Registered Nurse -OR- Requires a bachelor's degree; completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant or Surgeon's Assistant program; Michigan state licensure and continued certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA

  • Current ACLS

  • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) provider status may be required per department protocol.

  • Preferred trauma experience

  • 'ACLS, PALs, ATLS as required by privileging
