Description

We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk I. This role is situated within the industry of financial services and involves a range of duties related to accounting and customer service. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently, maintaining meticulous records, and dealing with both internal and external customers.

This role is 100% remote - candidates who reside in EST will be favored.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process customer credit applications using specialized accounting software.

• Maintain and update customer credit records regularly to ensure accuracy.

• Issue financial statements, bills, invoices, and account statements following established procedures.

• Monitor customer accounts and perform necessary actions such as debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets.

• Utilize computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for various accounting tasks.

• Conduct reconciliations of accounts and work with customers using portals and AP processes to ensure collection of payments.

• Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction.

• Collaborate with internal team members while also demonstrating the ability to work independently.

• Adhere to federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations related to accounting.

• Utilize communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with customers and team members.

Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint is essential.

• Experience in customer service is required.

• Familiarity with database management and usage.

• Knowledge of invoice processing and collection processes.

• Ability to perform ad hoc financial tasks as necessary.

• Understanding of financial regulations and company policies.

• Experience with ledger and debit credit management.

• Proficiency with GMail and other communication tools.

• Ability to maintain and manage financial records.

• Knowledge of Pivot Table operation is required.

• Experience dealing with external customers.

• Excellent written communication skills.

• Strong critical thinking abilities.

• Familiarity with reconciliation processes.

• Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements.

• Training experience is a plus.

• Knowledge of the 'About Time' software is beneficial.

• Proficiency in using spreadsheets for various tasks.

• Understanding of credit management processes.
