Sartorius Supervisor of Microbiology Lab in Yauco, Puerto Rico
The Supervisor of Microbiology Laboratory will coordinate projects and protocols for the Microbiology Laboratory area. It will also be the owner of the Environmental Monitoring program for Yauco Site, organize the Micro lab area activities to use effectively the materials, equipment and manpower to comply with the area objectives and requirements. Also, it will be responsible for the calibration and validation status of the lab equipment and instrumentation.

Coordinate Microbiology and environmental area projects and protocols.
Responsible to keep updated the laboratory documentation and review in a timely manner.
Coordinate and/or performs specifications and SOP’s audits.
Responsible for quality, safety, discipline, GMP, GLP and housekeeping in the lab.
Supervise laboratory activities; establish responsibilities and duties based on the laboratory and Plant priorities.
Responsible of Environmental Monitoring (EM) program for the site.
Responsible for laboratory budget.
Responsible for the laboratory equipment and test methods validation’s update.
Coordinate or established guidelines requirements to Plant “critical work request”.
Coordinate lab. Personnel trainings.
Perform internal audits when request.
Participate in client audits as SME when requested.
Performed other duties as assigned.
Maintain a behavior, which contributes positively the environment, Health, and safety in the organization.
Manage NCPR/CAPA observation assigned to Microbiology Laboratory and assure actions are close as per requirement.
What will convince us- Qualification & Skills:
B.S.in Microbiology/ Biology. Master’s degree in microbiology is preferred.
At least two (2) years of supervisory experience.
Audit Techniques knowledge.
Proficient in computer operations.
Knowledge in mathematics (Decimals, Percentage, statistics).
Fluency in writing, reading, and speaking English and Spanish.
Excellent communication skills.
Knowledgeable in the Laboratory practices regulations, equipment, and test methods validation.
Knowledgeable in ISO’ s, GMP’s and USP Interpretation and application.
Knowledge in sterilization, biological indicators and microorganism taxonomy.
Physical Demands:
Lifting And Carrying 5-10 pounds.
Walking, Standing and Reaching (below shoulder).
Hand use.
Simple grasping and Office work activities.
Reasonability for Safety risks of others:
Compliance to current Federal Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards: 21CFR Part 210/211/820, ISO 9001, and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Regulations.
