Overview

The analytical laboratory supervisor is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance activities of Graham’s Technical Center analytical laboratory, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards, and leading a team of laboratory technicians. The analytical laboratory supervisor will also perform analytical testing, review test results, maintain analytical lab equipment, troubleshoot issues, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. This technical center operates between the hours of 7AM through 5pm.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily operations of the analytical lab, including scheduling, assigning, and monitoring tasks, providing feedback, and resolving problems.

  • Ensure that all analytical testing is performed according to established procedures, specifications, and regulations, using appropriate instruments, methods, and techniques.

  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, instruments, and supplies, ensuring proper functioning and safety.

  • Train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of quality technicians and inspectors, ensuring that they have the necessary skills, knowledge, and competencies.

  • Develop and update quality assurance policies, procedures, and documentation, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct internal and external audits, inspections, and assessments, ensuring compliance with quality standards and customer expectations.

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, project management, engineering, and research and development, to support the quality objectives and goals of the laboratory.

  • Investigate and resolve any complaints related to the quality of the laboratory products or services, implementing corrective and preventive actions as needed.

  • Availability to work some weekend/holiday hours, in accordance with the laboratory schedule and customer needs. Limited travel.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of experience in analytical laboratory testing, preferably in a supervisory role.

  • Proficiency in using various analytical instruments, methods, software, techniques and visual inspections. Eagerness to learn more diverse equipment.

  • Ability to interpret and apply complex technical information, specifications, request instructions and regulations.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate facts and information clearly with internal and external customers.

  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining exemplary customer service.

Compensation Statement

The expected salary range for the position described in this posting is made in accordance with the legal mandates of certain jurisdictions within the United States. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.
