ABOUT THE ROLE

As a CBRE Material Handling Equipment Control Technician, you will troubleshoot and maintain material handling equipment (MHE) such as conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print and apply labeling systems, scales HMI systems and control cabinets.

This job is part of the Material Handling job function. They are responsible for the incoming and outgoing movement and storage of raw materials, finished products, and parts.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Monitor material handling control systems, industrial motor control systems, servo and frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems.

Monitor material handling equipment (MHE) metrics and partner with maintenance technicians to resolve equipment electrical and electronic control problems that create performance deficiencies.

Use operation systems assessment reports to improve material handling system reliability through preventive maintenance tasks completion and identify deficiency repairs.

Maintain positive working relationships with operations and site support resources in order to escalate issues that impact operations, minimizing downtime impact.

Fix and modify software programs for material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers, Allen Bradley Control Logix. Includes Industrial networks such as Ethernet, Control Net, Device Net, Profibus, AS-I, motor control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems.

Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.

Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion.

Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks are described in detail

Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Valid Driver’s License, required.

Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.

Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.

Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.

Basic math skills. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
