JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State York is seeking a motivated and creative part-time Strategic Communications Specialist to join our team. This position will collaborate with faculty and staff to complete a variety of communication projects. The role involves creating compelling content, managing communications with key stakeholders, and supporting various campus activities.

This is an on-campus position with the potential for a hybrid and/or flexible schedule. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required.

Job Duties:

  • Develop and create content for the campus website, news releases, social media platforms, electronic newsletters, and other communication channels.

  • Capture and edit photographs and videos to enhance our digital presence.

  • Attend and support campus events and serve on campus committees as needed.

  • Assist in creating marketing and communications materials to promote Penn State York’s programs and achievements.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across the campus community.

  • Ensure all communications are accurate, timely, and engaging, meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher plus one to two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Previous experience with social media, photography, video creation and editing, and the Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.

  • Strong writing, editing, research, and interviewing skills.

  • Ability to work with diverse audiences and build collaborative relationships.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
