The Warehouse Material Handler performs tasks associated with all Shipping and Receiving job functions. They are responsible for moving goods from point to point. The operator might load truck, unload trucks or be asked to supply production areas with product or remove finished goods to a warehouse storage area.

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting and operating forklift equipment
  • Operating an RF device
  • On time Shipping and Receiving
  • Inventory Control
  • Quality Compliance
  • 5 -- Standards and Housekeeping
  • Cross-training on all warehouse job functions
  • Based on customer and location may also include manual handling of materials and items not to include forklift operation
  • Team Member may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of Covenant Transport Services Qualifications

     

Must have prior forklift experience.

Requires eyesight and hearing for telephone and computer.

Requires color-sight for color-coded items.

Personable, ability to communicate with associates at all levels of the organization.

Ambitious, self-motivated, ability to work without supervision.

Interested in achieving company goals.

Excellent teamwork skills, ability to read labels and numbers, ability to operate in high speed and fast-paced environment and be able to follow instructions as directed by the supervisor.

High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have completed forklift operator training provided by the industry, with annual updates and retraining. Must have experience in forklift operations. Leadership experience is a plus.

WMS system experience a plus.
