The Pioneer Central School District is seeking qualified candidates for the following position:

Library Media Specialist - Pre-K-4 - Long-Term Substitute

Effective December 13, 2023 - June 30, 2024

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED:

• Valid N.Y.S. Library Media Specialist teaching certificate or will consider Early Childhood/Childhood teaching certificates.

  QUALIFICATIONS

DESIRED:

• Successful administration of the selection, reviewing, acquisition, processing and maintenance of all on-line and print library resources

• Able to use technology and find ways to integrate it into the classroom in order to increase student learning

• Evidence of understanding audio-visual equipment

• Knowledge of NYS Essential Elements for middle level standards based schools

• Knowledge of N.Y.S. learning standards and multiple types of student performance assessment

• Working knowledge of teaching and learning strategies in literacy, writing, and information skill development

• Evidence of being able to successfully implement professional development

• Ability to balance students' social/emotional and academic/intellectual needs

• Evidence of strong communication and interpersonal skills with parents, staff and students

• Evidence of teamwork with administration, school faculty and library staff

• Able to manage and maintain a large inventory of school equipment

• Working knowledge of the OPALS system, relevant instructional technology, and related electronic media

• Commitment to active participation in school
