Software Engineer, IBM Corporation, Yorktown Heights, NY (Up to 40% telecommuting permitted): Develop cloud-native applications in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, apply AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology for optimizing quantum circuits, to increase the performance and reliability in the company’s Quantum services. Break down a determined use case into discrete MVPs (minimal viable products). Design and develop a variety of full-stack components that are integral to our cloud-native applications. Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements. Solve computational problems using innovative skills. Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle, from design and development to testing, deployment, and maintenance. Use Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration of quantum computing applications, ensuring efficient and scalable deployment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to stay up to date with the latest quantum computing research, AI methodologies, and best practices in the field. Required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master’s degree) and one (1) year of experience as a Software Developer or related.
