Oversees the administration of course scheduling and student registration. Develops procedures and assessment methods to support effective and efficient application of academic policies. Coordinates data collection, assessment, and performs complex technical duties related to registration activities. Position Information Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Manages the operation of the registration office; maintains course scheduling guidelines, room attributes, scheduling reports, and course change procedures; maintains processes for self-service, manual and administrative student registration activities, registration reports, enrollment verification, university exit requests, and academic suspension; assists with resolving student, faculty and staff complaints. Supervises, trains and evaluates assigned staff responsible for processing and maintaining student registration and course scheduling; establishes work manuals, schedules and assignments; works with staff to ensure high-performance, service-oriented environment. Organizes and monitors electronic and printed communication of essential registration functions; assists with the distribution of academic calendar activities, deadlines, and responsibilities, university policy guidelines, and state/federal notices; coordinates academic catalog updates; manages office website. Coordinates registration data collection, assessment and creates reports on all findings; evaluates the effectiveness of existing university and office policies, recommends changes and develops procedures; assists with the development of annual goals and reporting for the department. Interprets and administers academic policies; provides support, explores alternatives, and documents resolutions with students, faculty and staff for policy exceptions; stays knowledgeable on university, state and federal policies related to academic records and registration, updates processes to maintain compliance, and participates in audits as necessary; assists with the management requirements of the Family Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) as it affects release of confidential information contained in student academic records; maintains the self-service proxy release process. Performs complex technical duties to build registration activities and serves as a resource to troubleshoot enrollment issues in the student information system; collaborates with IT staff to maintain registration databases and computer program processes; assists with strategy development and implementation for long-term student database management and other technology related applications. Serves on committees and taskforces as assigned. Other Functions and Responsibilities: Assists with training new hires. Performs other related duties as assigned. Equipment Operated: Computer and all other standard office equipment. Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday. Supervision Exercised: Supervision is exercised over staff.
