Youngstown Pipe and Steel is seeking to hire a CNC Machine Operator.

Responsibilities:

Interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and specifications to develop machining strategies.

Helps generate CNC programs for complex parts with a focus on optimizing tool paths and minimizing cycle times with the ability to edit and/or adjust CNC programs as needed.

Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision components according to specifications.

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Conduct in-process inspections to verify dimensional accuracy and quality of machined parts.

Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve any issues related to machining processes.

Maintain documentation and records of machining activities, including program revisions and tooling changes.

Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to create a safe working environment.

Provide training and guidance to junior machinists as needed.

Requirements:

Basic knowledge in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks, Fusion 360).

Extensive experience in CNC milling programming and machining operations.

Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, and cutting parameters.

Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T symbols, and technical specifications.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues and customers.

Prior experience with multi-axis milling machines is preferred.

Knowledge of materials (e.g., mild steel and aluminum) and machining techniques specific to the industry.

Must have High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification is a plus.

Must have a valid Driver's License

Additional Job Details:

Position: Full-time

Workdays: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday

Hours: 6:00am to 2:30pm

Hourly Wages: $21.00 - $24.00
