YOUNGSTOWN STATE UNIVERSITY (OH) Established Date: May 9, 2024 Revision Date: May 14, 2024 SALARY RANGE $55,000.00 - $57,000.00 Annually SUMMARY OF POSITION: Teaches master level counseling courses, advises students, and engages in professional service contributing to the successful operation of the Counseling Program to develop licensed professional counselors and related professionals who can serve the needs within our community. This type of appointment is issued to a faculty member for the duration of three or more years. The faculty member has expectations for teaching, service, and community engagement. POSITION INFORMATION: Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources. Ability to contribute to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the University community through teaching. Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday, including some evenings, and the possibility of some weekend days. QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES: Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Ohio to be obtained and maintained upon hire. Minimum Qualifications: An earned doctoral degree by the time of appointment in counselor education from a CACREP-accredited program. Eligible for licensure as an LPC in Ohio. Documented professional counselor identity by education, experience, and professional affiliations (e.g., Association for Counselor Education and Supervision or Chi Sigma Iota, International Honor Society). Five or more years of full-time professional experience as well as demonstrated excellence in the area of community engagement and outreach. Preferred Qualifications: Licensed, or eligibility for licensure, as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in Ohio. Evidence of contributions to scholarship and professional service in counseling. Experience and/or licensure in more than one counseling program track specialty area.
