We are currently looking for an Associate Field Technician/ Field Technician/ Sr. Field Technician for our Youngsville LA office.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for carrying out daily operations and maintenance tasks associated with the compressor station and pipeline activities and to assist with operations and maintenance of Texas Gas’s facilities located in the Youngsville, LA operating area. This position will be responsible for environmental health & safety and reliability for natural gas transmission through the pipeline system. Specific duties will consist of, but are not limited to, valve inspection and maintenance, tank gauging, pipeline locating, pipeline patrolling, gas sampling, damage prevention, one-calls, corrosion control, preventive pipeline maintenance and operations related to meter station, valve site and right of way maintenance, gas quality monitoring and assisting with construction and repairs of pipelines and associated facilities. This position will be responsible for recognition and reporting of abnormal and safety related operating conditions, accident and near miss reporting, as well as emergency response. In addition, this position is also responsible for regulatory compliance, operations, maintenance, and repair procedures as associated with DOT, industry standards, manufacturer, and company guidelines as they relate to facility equipment and appurtenances. This position will be expected to learn and operate the Youngsville Compressor Station and to be part of the on-call rotation related to pipeline and compression operations and for responding to emergency or abnormal situations. The successful candidate will be required to live within 30 miles of the Youngsville Compressor Station in Youngsville, LA. in order to respond to call outs expediently and will be required to complete Core Blocks in Safety, Environmental and Company policies and procedures.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Physical Requirements - standing/walking; climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolds; bending/stooping/squatting; carrying and lifting items 50 lbs. for a minimum of 50 feet

  • Working conditions - exposure to extreme heat and/or cold temperature and enclosed spaces

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Strong computer skills

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • Problem solving skills and ability to manage

  • filing system

  • History of safe work

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

    PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with natural gas pipelines and compressor facilities

  • Experience with DOT 192 Regulations

    REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

    PREFERRED EDUCATION:

  • Associate’s degree with coursework in Professional Administration and/or Accounting
