POSITION: Press Operator (2nd Shift) LOCATION: Milan, MI COMPENSATION: $17.50 per hour plus shift differential SHIFTS/HOURS:

  • Monday-Friday; 3:00pm-12:00am, overtime available and may be mandated over the weekends.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a dedicated and career-focused Press Operator to join our team at a leading precision stamping company in Milan, MI. This a temporary to direct hire position that offers the opportunity to build a long-term career in the manufacturing industry.

The Press Operator is responsible for the efficient and accurate assembly of metal components for Chrysler, General Motors, and Jeep. This role involves using hand tools, power tools, and machinery to complete assembly tasks, ensuring all products meet quality standards.

SKILLS:

  • Exceptional attendance with proven track record of success in meeting shift and schedule demands
  • Assemble and inspect metal components.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and machinery to complete assembly tasks.
  • Inspect components and finished products for defects, ensuring they meet required specifications and quality standards.
  • Identify and report any issues or discrepancies to supervisors.
  • Operate presses.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of coils and starting of metal strips in the feed system.
  • Assist in the operation of automatic presses.
  • Understand quality requirements to perform sorting, rework, and tagging.
  • Prepare workstations with necessary tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work area to optimize efficiency.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents, injuries, and damage to equipment.
  • Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate with fellow assembly workers, machine operators, and quality control personnel to ensure smooth workflow and efficient production.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Complete required paperwork, production logs, and quality control reports accurately and promptly.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process optimization.
  • Participate in training programs to develop skills and stay updated on new techniques, tools, and procedures related to assembly and stamping.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience with press machines.
  • Previous experience in feeder lines for metal.
  • Previous manufacturing experience or related field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools, power tools, and assembly techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Basic problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
