Job Description

Performs a variety of construction fabrication functions for the purpose of supporting military hardware testing and training operations, including targets, mock villages, and test fixtures using products commonly used in the construction trades. Performs setup of target systems and target arrays under the direction of senior section personnel. Works as part of a team with guidance and direction from senior section personnel to fabricate target systems, target arrays, and training sites. Communicates professionally and directly with customers, fellow employees, and senior section personnel for daily task requirements. Understands and follows all safety guidelines as defined in current SOP’s and regulations. Navigates KOFA and Cibola ranges in accordance with P-1000 and applicable range SOPs. Operates all direct fire target system currently used in the section. Completes daily work order log entries. Assists with fabrication and repair to all target systems used in the section. Provides guidance and direction to a crew supporting direct fire lot acceptance testing (LATs). Performs other duties as required to complete the assigned mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Qualifications

Pay Rate: $25.62Education/Licenses/Certifications/Experience Requirements:* Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.* Must be forklift certified.* Must have a minimum of 5 years of journeyman level experience in carpentry OR 2 year’s journeyman level experience and 3 years of technical experience in direct fire target systems at YPG.Job Skills Requirements: * Must be able to assist in fabrication of new design concepts to enhance capabilities (such as relocatable for safety fan restrictions, no dig permit requirement) of target system requirements.* Must be able to provide guidance and direction to a crew supporting standard direct fire operations.Physical Requirements:* Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.* Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.* Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.* Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the SOPs for General Support Service.* Must be capable of lifting 100 lbs. chest high unassisted repeatedly during the duty day.* Must be able to lift and transport 100 lbs. unassisted over uneven ground for 50 ft.* Must be able to ascend and descend equipment.* Must be tolerant of frequent weapons systems firings.Job Requirements:* Must be able speak, write, read, and understand English.* Must have a well-mannered customer service attitude.* Must be willing to cross-train in other areas.* Must use “down-time” effectively to the benefit of test, self, and company.* Must be punctual, responsible, and dependable.* Must demonstrate motivation, initiative, and reliability. * Must be able to maintain own tools to the minimum required by the company.* Must be detail oriented. * Must be familiar with KOFA and Cibola ranges and be able to navigate in accordance with P-1000 and applicable range SOPs.* Must be able to follow and apply all safety guidelines defined in current SOPs and regulations.* Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.* Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.* Must have dependable transportation and a dependable means of communication.Additional Desirable Qualifications:* Possess a Class A CDL.Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements:* Must be a U.S. Citizen.* Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.* Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.Relevance of experience to be determined by hiring manager.Closing Date: Open Until Filled
